    The times are ever changing

    When is not the time for change?

    Always growing, starting, ending

    Things are different, time so strange

    Treasured things slip by so fast

    Hoped for things come by so slow

    They say hurry up and wait but

    Really you can’t ever know

    What today is promised sure

    Tomorrow may completely shift

    Like a mirage it disappears

    Into an atmospheric rift

    Don’t give up though just because

    Your plans change from what you knew

    Your hope, your future is all planned

    In the right time it will come true

  • Snowfall

    So silently, so swiftly,

    The snowflakes softly fall,

    Weaving for the frozen earth

    An icy, glistening shawl

  • Watershed

    I stepped out and I fell in

    The ledge I trusted was too thin

    I reached and got my fingers stepped on

    I found out I was a pawn

    I cannot show my pain to you

    Since using others is all you do

    But still it hurts me just the same

    Like I’m the loser in your game

    I see now how I was misled

    And know what I will do instead

    To let go of the pain I feel

    And help the wounds recede and heal

    Icy jewels along a winter river

    Suspended mid-air on stalks that shiver

    A precious treasure for the one who bends

    To look in the place where the sidewalk ends

    Smooth drops of glass molded to perfection

    Shaping the world with swirling refraction

    A kaleidoscope of hues that transcends

    What’s left in the place where the sidewalk ends

    Glitter sprinkled in the drab of winter

    Catching the scarce rays of sun that splinter

    A mystery of water and light that lends

    The lure to the place where the sidewalk ends

    A gift more impressive than royal jewels

    Beautifully clothed from translucent spools

    Waiting to share this great wonder with friends

    Who now know the place where the sidewalk ends

    The turning of a year

    New number for each day

    A new start now is here

    Enter, find a way

    The leaving of a year

    Year full of joy and pain

    So many hard things, fear

    More victories won again

    The starting of a year

    New hope, new doors to find

    Fresh slate of time appear

    Leave harmful things behind

    The ending of a year

    So much to, thankful, say

    It was worth every tear

    To be right here today
